Super Mario Sunshine is a 2002 platform game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. It is part of the Super Mario series within the larger Mario franchise, and is the second 3D platformer in the series, following Super Mario 64. The game was played by The D-Pad in 2019, with Rick attempting a 100% speedrun of the game in celebration of the eighth anniversary of the channel. Originally streamed live on The D-Pad's Twitch account on April 6, 2019, the attempt was later edited into two large episodes and uploaded to YouTube from April 13, 2019 to April 14, 2019.
