Mega Man Battle Network 4.5 Real Operation is a 2004 real-time tactical role-playing game developed by Capcom Production Studio 2 and published by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance. Released only in Japan, it is a spin-off in the Mega Man Battle Network sub-series of the Mega Man franchise. The game was played by The D-Pad in 2017, as the eighth weekend game in The Mega Let's Play, and the fifty-first game in the series overall. The playthrough commenced on October 22, 2017.

In a live-action intro, Rick and Ben introduce the game, discussing its unique spin on the Battle Network formula, and its use of the Battle Chip Gate add-on for the Game Boy Advance. In-game, using a partial English translation patch from 2012, Rick explains to Ben that they won't actually be able to use it due to the nature of playing the game on the RetroN, then begins, entering his character name as "feSesgh". He chooses to play as StarMan, who is unlocked on the Navi select screen, possibly due to a bug. Entering the actual game, he moves through an area of the internet, fighting several random battles, but getting confused by the text, much of which is still in Japanese. He ends up accidentally entering the "Everyday Tournament", the first round of which puts him against NumberMan. He quickly loses, and goes back to exploring, eventually running into NumberMan outside of the tournament, who makes him answer a series of simple math questions before he can progress. He passes the test, and continues further into the internet.

Rick continues to explore, finding an "Exam Key" that unlocks a door further back in the internet. He heads back there, while continuing to fight his way through random encounters. He takes the exam, having to look up the answers as the options aren't translated properly, and passes it. He keeps playing, as he and Ben discuss the current state of The Mega Let's Play, both finding it difficult to believe it has been running for nearly three years. Using the guide to find out where to go, Rick jacks out of the internet and sets something up using the "email" option in the menu, but is unable to figure out what due to the text.

Rick spends a long time wandering aimlessly through various areas of the internet, fighting off many random encounters as he does so. Eventually, he consults the guide again, and finds that he has to look at his email, which he does. After filling in a number of phrases, he continues onwards, but quickly becomes lost again. He and Ben become increasingly confused by the directions given to them by the guide, which tells them to speak to a specific Navi, but isn't informative enough to help them find it. Eventually, after a long period of searching, Rick stumbles across the Navi, which doesn't even appear on the map. It turns out to be a boss fight with TopMan, which Rick is able to defeat.

Discovering that the next thing he needs to do is enter a tournament, Rick heads towards the board to sign up for one, but runs into a problem: the game's real-time (and inaccurate) clock must be set to a certain time in order to enter the tournament. It also can't be changed by speeding up the game, forcing Rick, Ben and Lindsay to leave the game on for an hour before they can proceed. He manages to win the first two rounds of the tournament, but then finds himself up against FireMan in the final one, and is defeated. He tries to load state to reset the time to attempt the tournament again, but finds that the time automatically adjusts, and he is unable to even cheat his way through the game. He quickly realizes that his only option is to leave the game on for another three hours.
