Super Metroid is a 1994 action-adventure game developed by Nintendo R&D1 and Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the third game in the Metroid series. Super Metroid was played by The D-Pad in 2011, but was cancelled after only 5 episodes when the team believed themselves to be stuck and became frustrated with the game. The game appeared on the channel again in 2017, as the thirteenth game in the D-Pad Classics series. A single episode was released on October 19, 2017.

The group make jokes over the title screen that Rick realizes are almost identical to jokes they made six years in their first playthrough of the game. John performs a dramatic reading of the game's opening text, before Lindsay begins the game in Ceres station. She makes her way to the end of the area, fights Ridley, and escapes before the station self-destructs. Landing on Zebes, she explores the caves of Crateria, and finds the elevator down to Brinstar, where she collects the Morph Ball and Missiles. She then returns to Crateria and attempts to explore some side rooms with her new abilities, but mostly finds dead ends. Entering a new section of the caves, she finds the Bombs, but is attacked by a Torizo, starting a boss fight. Lindsay attempts to defeat the boss, but is soon killed by it. |
