Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2006 platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is a main entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, released in celebration of the series' 15th anniversary. The game's story is split between three playable characters: Sonic, Shadow, and the newly-introduced Silver, each with a different style of play. The Xbox 360 version of the game was played on The D-Pad in 2021, as the seventieth game in The Super Sonic Let's Play. The LP consisted of 86 episodes; 30 covering Sonic's story, 23 covering Shadow's story, 22 covering Silver's story, 6 covering the Last Episode, and 5 covering the Team Attack Amigo DLC, released on weekdays from January 2 to September 3, 2021. Three bonus videos were released after the conclusion of the LP: a compilation of the game's loading screens on September 6, 2021, an episode of A Brief History explaining the game's timeline on September 18, 2021, and an episode of The Best of The D-Pad compiling memorable moments from the entire LP on September 22, 2021.
