Chao in Space is a 2019 animated web short directed and written by Tyson Hesse. It is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and a follow-up to promotional series Sonic Mania Adventures and Team Sonic Racing Overdrive. Based on the fictional Chao in Space film seen advertised in several Sonic games, its plot follows a sleeping Chao in the Neutral Garden, which Dr. Eggman is attempting to steal presents from, while it dreams of a intense battle in space with a Dark Chao. The short was covered on The D-Pad upon its release, as part of The Super Sonic Let's Play. A D-Pad + Chill episode reacting to the short was released on December 25, 2019.
