Populous is a 1990 God game developed by Bullfrog Productions and published by Electronic Arts for the Sega Genesis. A port of a 1989 PC game, it is the first game in the Populous series. The player controls a deity and can shape a civilization, guiding their followers to defeat the followers of an opposing deity. It is one of the sixty games included in the Sega Genesis Mini 2 dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2022, as the thirty-ninth game in their Sega Genesis Mini 2 series. The episode was released on December 10, 2022.
