Wario Land II is a 1998 platform game developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. It is part of the Wario Land series, and a sequel to Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. The player controls Wario as he attempts to retrieve his stolen treasure from Captain Syrup and her pirates after they break into his castle. It differs from its predecessor by incorporating a branching paths for the narrative, with several different endings possible based on the actions taken by the player. The 1999 Game Boy Color version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2022, as the fifth game in Super Mario/Wariothon. The episode was streamed live on the YouTube channel as part of the second day of the marathon before being uploaded as a separate episode on January 11, 2022.
