It is based on the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' franchise, and serves as a promotional series for ''[[Team Sonic Racing]]'', similar to the [[2018]] series ''[[Sonic Mania Adventures]]'', which promoted ''[[Sonic Mania Plus]]''. Based loosely on the game, the plot follows three teams racing against each other while Dr. Eggman attempts to sabotage them. The series ran for two episodes from March to April 2019, shortly before the release of ''Team Sonic Racing''. The series was covered on ''[[The D-Pad]]'' upon its release, as part of ''[[The Super Sonic Let's Play]]''. A series of ''[[D-Pad + Chill]]'' episodes reacting to the show were released from April 27 to April 28, 2019.
