Let's Play Dead is a Franchise Play created by The C-Pad in 2018, focusing on the Resident Evil franchise. The series serves as a sequel to the channel's LP of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017. It began with a pair of cryptic teaser videos released on July 1 and July 24, 2018, leading up to its official announcement on July 30, along with the reveal of The C-Pad in general. The series officially debuted on August 29, 2018 with the first episode of Resident Evil HD Remaster.
The schedule for Let's Play Dead consists of uploads every weekday, generally between 15 and 20 minutes in length, with games covered roughly chronologically in order of release. Due to C/J's presence being required for every recording session, there are sometimes hiatuses of several weeks or more in the upload schedule. Similarly to The Dreamy Let's Play and The Super Sonic Let's Play, each LP begins with a live-action intro exploring the history and development of the game being played. However, the live-action intros generally have no relation to The D-Pad's ongoing metaplot. It differs from the Franchise Plays created by Rick for The D-Pad in several other key ways, the most notable being that it only covers the major games in the series, skipping most side games and spinoffs, and in cases where a game has a remake, the remake will usually be played instead of the original, rather than both being played.
As of September 26, 2023, 13 games have been played as part of the project, and a total of 668 episodes have been released.
