Just Shapes & Beats is a 2018 bullet hell game developed and published by Berzerk Studios for Nintendo Switch and PC. Taking heavy inspiration from rhythm games, players control colored shapes attempting to dodge attacks that move in time to the music, with each level based around a different track. The Nintendo Switch version of the game was played on The D-Pad in 2019, in collaboration with The C-Pad and The Joystick. The LP consisted of 3 episodes, released on weekdays from December 25 to December 31, 2019. The LP entered a hiatus after the third episode; Rick stated that it would eventually be returned to and completed, but this never came to pass.
The game was revisited on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2024, as the sixth and final game in mom said it's my turn to host the charity marathon stream. This time, the entire game was played to completion. The episode was streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account before being uploaded to YouTube on December 1, 2024.
