Star Fox 2 is a 2017 multidirectional shooter game developed by Nintendo and Argonaut Games and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. As the name suggests, it was originally intended to be the sequel to the 1993 game Star Fox, and the second title overall in the Star Fox series. Completed and planned for release in 1996, the game was cancelled due to the impending launch of the more advanced Nintendo 64; many concepts from the game found their way into the later game Star Fox 64 released for that console. It was finally released in 2017 as one of the 21 games on the Super NES Classic Edition microconsole. Shortly after its release, Star Fox 2 was played by The D-Pad as the second game in the D-Pad Classics series; unlike the rest of the games in the series, a full playthrough was recorded. The LP commenced on October 2, 2017 and concluded on October 4, 2017, with a total of 3 episodes being released.

The group unlock Star Fox 2 in the SNES Classic's menu and begin playing it, noting the expanded cast of characters and improved graphics. The game proves to have a very different structure from the first one, consisting of shorter levels, with more freedom to choose which order to do things in and a goal of preventing the enemy from damaging Corneria. Rick, Sanchez, John and Sarah each take turns tackling various segments of the game, with the control eventually making its way back to Rick for a pair of levels in which he has to fly inside an enemy ship and turn into a walking vehicle to fight enemies.

Sanchez intercepts a missile heading for Corneria before going to Titania to attack an enemy base there. After several walking ship segments and battles against enemies inside the base, Sanchez destroys the base. John is unwilling to play the game any more, so Sarah takes over and tackles a similar base on the planet of Eladard. She manages to destroy it, seemingly creating an opening to go and face Andross head-on. Just as the control is being passed to Rick, Star Wolf appears and attacks the party.

Rick fights against Star Wolf, managing to defeat him without many problems, much to the surprise of John. He then heads straight for Andross' base. While he plays through the level, the group discuss their opinions on the game, believing that it is too short. Rick reaches the final battle, oddly represented as a giant cube with Andross' face on every side and defeats it, leading to a second phase of the battle in space. He completes this as well, destroying the boss and commencing the final cutscenes and credits of the game. Receiving a "D" rank for their efforts, the group are underwhelmed by the experience and move on to a different game.
