Doctor Who is a 1963 science-fiction television series created by Sydney Newman, C. E. Webber, and Donald Wilson for the BBC. It has starred numerous actors over its nearly 60-year history as the titular Doctor, along with a rotating cast of supporting characters. The story follows the Doctor, an alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, who travels time and space in their ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the outside as a blue British police box from the 1960s. They are nearly always accompanied in their travels by one or more "companions", who are usually humans from contemporary England. The series ran for twenty-six seasons from 1963 to 1989 before its cancellation. A television movie was released in 1996 as a backdoor pilot for an American co-produced revival, which ultimately did not come to fruition. A second attempt to revive the series in 2005 was successful, and a further twelve seasons have aired since then.

The series was covered on The D-Pad in 2014, with episodes from the show's eighth revival season and thirty-fourth overall reviewed in episodes of R-Rated. Two reviews of each episode were released, one without spoilers, and one with spoilers; both series were released under the title Vlogtor Who. The two series collectively consisted of 7 episodes, 4 "without spoilers" and 3 "with spoilers", released bi-weekly from August 28 to September 21, 2014. The series stopped unexpectedly before the "with spoilers" review of the fourth episode was released, and Rick has expressed no intention of returning to coverage of the show since then.
