Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a 2018 animated superhero film directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsay, and Rodney Rothman and written by Phil Lord and Rothman. It stars Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Velez, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Nicolas Cage, Kathryn Hahn, and Liev Schreiber. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, as well as numerous other versions of the character seen in spin-off comics throughout the years, and is the first film in the Spider-Verse series. The story follows Miles Morales as he becomes the new Spider-Man, and teams up with several other versions of Spider-Man from alternate universes in order to stop the Kingpin from destroying his own universe with a collider. The film was reviewed on The D-Pad in 2021 in an episode of R-Rated. The episode was released on December 18, 2021.
