Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a 2021 superhero film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by David Callaham, Cretton, and Andrew Lanham. It stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Ben Kingsley, and Tony Leung. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Shang-Chi, and is the twenty-fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story follows Shang-Chi, a skilled martial artist who was trained as an assassin by the Ten Rings organization but fled to live a normal life in San Francisco, as he is Forced to confront his past due to the efforts of his father, the leader of the Ten Rings, to find a mythical village. The film was covered on The D-Pad throughout its release cycle, with an episode of The D-Pad Reacts covering the film's first trailer, released on April 19, 2021, followed by an R-Rated episode reviewing the film on September 27, 2021.
