Super Mario World is a 1991 platform game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Part of the Super Mario series in the Mario franchise, it is the first major game in the series released for the SNES. The game has been featured three times on The D-Pad. The first time was due to The D-Pad being part of the Super Mega Collaborative Let's Play; the channel's contribution was Larry's Castle, and their episode was released on August 7, 2015. Later that year, the game appeared again, as a "speed"run during the "Hoverbored" stream on October 21, 2015. Two years later, the Super NES Classic Edition re-release of the game was played on the channel, as the eighteenth game in the Super NES Classic Edition series. A single episode was released on October 26, 2015.
