Preceded by 5 Days a Stranger
Followed by Trilby's Notes

7 Days a Skeptic is a 2004 point-and-click adventure game developed by Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw and published by Fully Ramblomatic for PC. It is the second of four entries in Croshaw's Chzo Mythos series. A distant sequel to 5 Days a Stranger, the story takes place 400 years after the events of that game, and follows psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Somerset and the rest of the crew of the spaceship Mephistopheles, who encounter strange phenomena after discovering a metal box containing the remains of John DeFoe. The game was intended to be played on The D-Pad in 2012, as a follow-up to their 2011 LP of 5 Days a Stranger. The LP was announced with a teaser released on July 28, 2012, with the first episode scheduled for August 20, but it was ultimately never recorded.

The game was revisited on the channel in 2014, as the second game in The Chzo Mythos, an LP project covering all four games in the series. The LP consisted of 9 episodes, released on weekdays from August 7 to September 9, 2014.

Trivia

  • The teaser for the 2012 LP was released on July 28, a significant date in the Chzo Mythos.
  • The 2012 LP was originally intended to be the second in an annual series, with one Chzo Mythos game being played every year from 2011 to 2014, and each LP beginning on July 28. After the plans for both 2012 and 2013 fell through, this was ultimately reworked into all four games being played in 2014, including a repeat LP of the first.
  • The final episode of the 2014 LP ends with a trailer previewing the LP of Trilby's Notes, the third game in the series.

Notes

  1. In this episode, Dustin and Ben appears only in the trailer for the Trilby's Notes LP.
