Pokémon Sun is a 2016 role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo 3DS. It is part of the seventh generation of the Pokémon franchise, and one half of a pair of games with Pokémon Moon. The two games are the first entries in the seventh generation, introducing 81 new Pokémon, the Hawaii-inspired Alola region, and new mechanics such as regional variants, Z-Moves, and Ultra Beasts. The game was played by John on The D-Pad in a Nuzlocke challenge upon its release, as one half of the fourth installment of Pokémon Rivals, Sun vs. Moon. The LP began on November 21, 2016.

Trivia
- The Pokémon Sun LP entered a hiatus after John completed the main game and won the Padlocke to make room in the schedule for the non-Nuzlocke LP of Pokémon Ultra Sun. While the Ultra Sun LP soon entered an indefinite hiatus itself, Sun did not return with new episodes covering the postgame until September 2021, following the completion of Pokémon Rivals: Pikachu vs. Eevee.
