Mega Man X: Command Mission is a 2004 role-playing game developed by Capcom Production Studio 3 and published by Capcom. It is a spin-off of the Mega Man X series, set 100 years after the rest of the games in the series, and the only turn-based RPG in the entire Mega Man franchise. Command Mission was played by The D-Pad in 2017, as the forty-second weekday game in The Mega Let's Play, and the forty-ninth game in the series overall.

In a live-action intro, Rick and John celebrate their completion of Mega Man X7, and remark that there are only ten games left in the series. Rick introduces Command Mission, noting its bizarre placement in the timeline of the series, the slight changes in art style, the premise of the game's story, and the characters. John quickly leaves upon learning that the game is an RPG, leaving Rick to finish introducing it. In-game, Rick and John watch the intro and opening cutscenes before John takes control of X in the Lagrano Ruins. He slowly climbs the area, picking up items and learning the game's battle mechanics through a number of random encounters along the way.
