Rick sits down to review Wonder Woman. He considers the film to be good, and an huge step forward for DC, but not as great as the general consensus would suggest. He takes some issue with the casting of Gal Gadot, but praises her performance, along with those of the rest of the cast. He criticizes inconsistencies with the villains and the staging and direction of some of the action scenes, says the film tries too hard to set itself apart from Captain America: The First Avenger, and has problems with some of the comedy and the color palette. Rick singles out a few specific scenes, and the film's ending in general for criticism. In conclusion, he says that the film is the best of the DC movies despite the problems, and shows that they are capable of responding to criticism. |
