Pokémon Rivals: X vs. Y is a first official installment of Pokémon Rivals, and second overall. It was played using the 2013 Nintendo 3DS games Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, the first entries in the sixth generation of the franchise. Rick began with X on May 12, 2014, followed by John with Y on May 19. Rick put his X LP on hiatus after November 13, 2014, leaving John to finish Y on November 21, with a postmortem discussion episode released on November 23. The series returned on a weekend schedule from August 17, 2015, alternating between John playing the postgame of Y and Rick finishing the main game of X. Once both of these were completed, a final faceoff was released on November 26, 2015. Overall, the series consisted of 167 episodes; 69 of X, 85 of Y, 1 of "Z", 11 faceoffs, and the postmortem.
