Pokémon Omega Ruby is a 2014 role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo 3DS. It is part of the sixth generation of the Pokémon franchise, and one half of a pair of games with Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. The two games are remakes of the 2003 Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version, with some features from the 2005 updated Pokémon Emerald Version also included. They retell the same plot as the original games, with the addition of a new postgame story called the "Delta Episode". The gameplay includes mechanics from more recent games in the series, up to and including Mega Evolutions from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. The game was played by John on The D-Pad in a Nuzlocke challenge upon its release, as one half of the second installment of Pokémon Rivals, Omega Ruby vs. Alpha Sapphire. The LP consisted of 97 episodes; 70 covering the main game, 9 covering the Delta Episode, 8 covering additional postgame content, and 10 faceoff episodes, released from November 24, 2014 to August 15, 2015.
