Pokémon Rivals: Brilliant Diamond vs. Shining Pearl is the sixth official installment of Pokémon Rivals, and seventh overall. It is played using the 2021 Nintendo Switch games Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, remakes of the 2007 Nintendo DS games Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version, and part of the eighth generation of the franchise. As the winner of the previous Padlocke, Pikachu vs. Eevee, John began with Shining Pearl on November 23, 2021, followed by Rick with Brilliant Diamond on December 14. As of January 18, 2022, 27 episodes of the series have been released; 17 of Brilliant Diamond, 9 of Shining Pearl, and 1 faceoff.
