Pokémon FireRed Version is a 2004 RPG developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance It is part of the third generation of the Pokémon franchise, and one of a pair of games, the other being Pokémon LeafGreen Version - both games are remakes of the original 1998 games Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version. FireRed was played by Rick as what was intended to be one half of a competitive Nuzlocke, with John playing LeafGreen. However, John ultimately did not begin his playthrough in time and the project became a solo Nuzlocke known as Pokémon FireRed Version: Hard Mode, which aired 75 episodes before going on hiatus in early 2013. Well over a year later, the project was revisited, as John began his long-delayed playthrough of LeafGreen, and Rick finally finished FireRed.
