Pokémon Rivals: Omega Ruby vs. Alpha Sapphire is the second official installment of Pokémon Rivals, and third overall. It was played using the 2014 Nintendo 3DS games Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, remakes of the 2003 Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version, and part of the sixth generation of the franchise. As the winner of the previous Padlocke, X vs. Y, John began with Omega Ruby on November 24, 2014, followed by Rick with Alpha Sapphire on December 2. The main game portion of the series concluded on June 19, 2015, after which it switched to a weekend schedule with John playing the postgame of Omega Ruby, with the final episode released on August 15, 2015. Overall, the series consisted of 163 episodes; 87 of Omega Ruby, 66 of Alpha Sapphire, and 10 faceoffs.
