Knuckles' Chaotix is a 1995 platform game developed and published by Sega for the 32X. It is a spin-off in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, featuring Knuckles the Echidna as the main character, along with four other characters known as the "Chaotix", and two of Robotnik's creations. In a unique gameplay twist, the main characters are tethered together in pairs, and must utilize "rubber band" physics to progress through the stages. It was originally developed as Sonic Crackers with Sonic and Tails in the lead roles, but was later re-purposed to feature Knuckles. The game was played by The D-Pad in 2011, after the fifth game in Sonic Week, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, proved unplayable due to a serious frame rate issue. Sonic 4 was hastily replaced with Knuckles' Chaotix, which acted as the sixth and final game in the series. The LP (including the failed attempt at Sonic 4) was recorded in a single session, and released on The D-Pad's then-website, dpadup.com, as one long episode on June 25, 2011. Later, this video was edited into 16 shorter episodes, and uploaded to The D-Pad's YouTube channel between October 14 and November 4, 2011.

(note: infobox needed w/ name, example thumbnail, developer, publisher, platform, release date, LP start date, LP end date, number of episodes, total length, featured members (?), previous playthrough in series, next playthrough in series, link to playlist) (one infobox for each playthrough of the game)

In 2017, the game was revisited on the channel, preceded by a brief playthrough of the Sonic Crackers demo, as the twenty-second and twenty-third games in The Super Sonic Let's Play. The LP consisted of 15 episodes; it began on January 9, 2017, and concluded on January 24, 2017.

Knuckles' Chaotix is a 1995 platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA for the 32X. It is a spinoff game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, featuring Knuckles the Echidna as the main character and unique "rubber band" physics. Knuckles' Chaotix became infamous on The D-Pad after they played it as the 6th and final game in Sonic Week (acting as a hasty replacement for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I) - the group were amazed by the game's poor quality and consistently referred to it in later episodes as one of the worst games they'd played on the channel. The game was played a second time by the channel in 2017, as the 23rd game of The Super Sonic Let's Play.

  |ShortSummary = After dealing with some technical issues, the group begin the intended final game of Sonic Week - Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I. Rick enters the first act of Splash Hill Zone, but is confronted with frame rate issues (none of which are visible on the video itself) that make the game nearly unplayable. He completes the act, then gives up on the game, changing to Knuckles' Chaotix instead. Rick plays through some of the opening area, controlling Knuckles and picking up Espio as an ally soon after. He briefly enters Practice Mode, a tutorial, but decides to exit it before learning all of the controls.

  |ShortSummary = Rick explains some of the history behind Knuckles' Chaotix while playing through the remainder of the intro stage and trying to get used to the controls. Upon reaching the end of the level, he enters a giant ring and plays a special stage, which he completes to obtain the first Chaos Ring. Afterwards, he is given the option of changing character and picks Mighty, then gets Heavy from the Combi Comfiner at C/J's suggestion. The random level selector sends Rick to the first stage of Marina Madness, which he completes. Back at the level select, Rick switches out Heavy for Vector and heads to the first level of Speed Slider. As he plays through the stage, the group discuss the future of the Sonic franchise. Rick reaches the end of the level with few problems.

  |ShortSummary = Rick accidentally gets the useless Bomb from the Combi Confiner, and ends up going to the first stage of Botanic Base. He completes it, and exchanges Bomb for Espio, only to be sent straight back to Botanic Base for the second stage. While in the level, he briefly enters a bonus stage through a ring, but hits an exit almost immediately and gets sent back out, leaving him confused as to what he even played. By the end of the stage, he has enough rings to enter another special stage. Despite some close calls in the second half of the stage, Rick completes it and earns a second Chaos Ring.

  |ShortSummary = Rick switches up his character combination, ending up with Knuckles and Charmy. He enters the second stage of Speed Slider and completes it, entering another special stage at the end. He is forced to replay the second section due to not having enough spheres at the end, but eventually succeeds and gets the third Chaos Ring. At the level select, Rick switches out Charmy for Espio and heads to the second stage of Marina Madness. As the group remember a bad experience at a convention, Rick plays through the level, and encounters another bonus stage along the way, but does not finish the stage with enough rings for a special stage.

  |ShortSummary = Rick enters the third stage of Speed Slider, but becomes lost trying to find his way through the confusing level layout, with the game's awkward physics only making the situation worse. He eventually gets to the end and enters another special stage, but runs out of rings in the second section and fails. He then goes straight to Speed Slider's fourth stage as he talks about musical motifs in The Legend of Zelda games. Rick completes the stage fairly quickly, without getting enough rings for a special stage. As he does this, the group realize that there are in fact five stages in each zone, not three, meaning the game is significantly longer than they anticipated.

He reaches the end of the stage and enters a giant ring, but falls off the course early on in the special stage. Back at the level select, Rick is sent to the first stage of Techno Tower and plays through it, but once again becomes stuck for some time trying to figure out which way to go. Eventually, he makes it to the end and enters another special stage, but falls through a small gap in the course almost immediately and fails yet again.
