In a live-action intro, Rick and John briefly recap the last year of The Super Sonic Let's Play, then introduce Sonic Forces, discussing its development, story, characters, and connections to Sonic Mania. In the game itself, Rick chooses to play on the hard difficulty setting, then watches the opening cutscene. He is thrown straight into the first level, Lost Valley. The stage is designed as a tutorial, so Rick completes it fairly easily. In a cutscene, Sonic is defeated by the team of past Sonic villains recruited by Eggman, which is followed by an abrupt six-month time jump, during which Eggman successfully takes over most of the world. After another cutscene, the character creation option is presented, and Rick hands over to Ben. Ben creates a brown cat modeled somewhat after Tonka, and the character is immediately introduced in a cutscene along with Knuckles. Following this, the level select screen is unlocked, and Rick enters the game's second stage.

Rick plays through Spaceport, controlling the Avatar that Ben created. The character turns out to utilize a number of different gadgets to defeat enemies and navigate levels; Rick finds the amount of mechanics being thrown at him somewhat overwhelming, but still manages to complete the stage. The ability to customize the Avatar's outfit is unlocked; after messing around with a bit, Rick moves on to the next stage. In a cutscene, Tails is attacked by an enemy but saved by Classic Sonic, who Rick controls for the third stage. He plays through the stage, enjoying it considerably more than the first two, and manages to attain an 'S' rank for the first time. In a cutscene after the level, it is discovered that Sonic is being held captive at a rebuilt Death Egg.
3443"Itchin' for a Bitchin'"15:54JohnRick, Ben10 November 2017 (2017-11-10)
John takes over for the fourth stage, Prison Hall, set on the Death Egg. He has some trouble getting used to the controls for the Avatar, and dies several times, but eventually manages to reach the end of the level. He moves on to the fifth stage, Vs. Zavok. In this stage, Sonic breaks out of his prison cell and takes control for a boss fight with Zavok, a character the group know nothing about, due to the fact that none of them played Sonic Lost World. John struggles against the boss, dying multiple times, before he finally defeats him. He views a brief cutscene before starting stage 6, Egg Gate.
3454"Nighttime in the Asteroid Belt"17:20JohnRick13 November 2017 (2017-11-13)
John starts Egg Gate, and plays through the entirety of the stage, not running into any major difficulties. In a cutscene, Sonic meets the Avatar, and the two escape the Death Egg. After customizing the Avatar some more, Rick takes over for Arsenal Pyramid, in which the player controls both Sonic and the Avatar at the same time. Although he falls to his death several times in the indoor area due to confusing controls, Rick eventually makes his way to the end of the stage. Following this, he is sent to Luminous Forest. He rushes through the stage, complaining that he doesn't feel too in control of the game, before running into a confusing section where Sonic is eaten by a snake and must time several button presses to get out. He does so, completing the level.
3465"Your Insistence Is Futile"20:02JohnRick, C/J14 November 2017 (2017-11-14)
John enters the next stage, which turns out to consist of a boss fight against Infinite. He chases the boss along a looping area, dodging attacks and eventually beating him, but Sonic is still defeated in a cutscene after the level. He moves on to Green Hill, a Classic Sonic level. Although he dies several times due to falling down bottomless pits, he manages to complete the stage. He is then alerted to an "SOS mission" at Egg Gate, and attempts it, but is crushed to death partway through the level, failing the mission. C/J arrives from work as John watches a cutscene and enters a boss fight stage against Eggman. He defeats the boss, watches another cutscene, and hands over to Rick for the next level.
3476"Space Pork Apple Play"14:12RickJohn, C/J15 November 2017 (2017-11-15)
Rick enters an SOS mission in the Spaceport, managing to complete it this time. After customizing the Avatar again, he enters the next story level, Park Avenue. He plays through the stage while C/J discusses the revived Sonic comic and the meaning of the word "vector". He eventually reaches the end of the level, unlocking even more gear for the Avatar, as well as the next stage in the story. The group discuss their impressions of the game so far as Rick re-equips the Avatar once more.
3487"Carnivals Are in the Woods"16:38C/J, JohnRick, Sarah16 November 2017 (2017-11-16)
C/J takes over to play through Casino Forest, a Classic Sonic level based heavily off Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He completes the stage just as Sarah arrives, then hands the control back to John. John enters Aqua Road, an Avatar stage with a number of difficult to control water slide segments, which leads to John's death on one occasion. He beats the level on his second try. In a cutscene, Tails and Classic Sonic are reunited with the rest of the characters, unlocking the next story level as well as a secret stage. He chooses the secret stage, which turns out to be a very short level filled with fire obstacles. He completes it, then hands the control to Rick once more.
3498"We're All Gonna Die, Hooray!"17:33RickJohn, C/J, Sarah17 November 2017 (2017-11-17)
Rick plays through Sunset Heights, a fairly short level which leads to an encounter with Shadow. In a cutscene, another Shadow appears, revealing that the one who was fighting alongside Eggman was a fake created by Infinite. Rick continues onward into the next stage, Capital City. Midway through the level, Infinite appears and uses the Phantom Ruby to create illusions, appearing to alter the state of the level. Rick dies a few times due to falling off the level, but manages to complete the stage afterwards. He then moves on to the boss stage, which consists of a second battle against Infinite, using the Avatar. Despite some troubles, he is able to defeat the boss. In another cutscene, Infinite attacks the Avatar, then leaves.
3509"The Shitty Topaz"14:55JohnRick, C/J, Sarah20 November 2017 (2017-11-20)
While C/J suggests names for further Chaos Emerald alternatives, John enters Chemical Plant with Classic Sonic, in a reimagined version of the original stage from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He has some trouble with the stage, including drowning at one point, but eventually manages to reach the end of the level. He moves on to Red Gate Bridge, which consists entirely of a boss fight against a Phantom Ruby fake of Metal Sonic. John manages to defeat the boss relatively easily, leading to a brief cutscene, and the unlocking of the next story level, along with a secret stage and an extra stage. John decides to head to the secret stage first.
35110"That's a Lotta Damage"16:34John, SarahRick, C/J21 November 2017 (2017-11-21)
John plays through the secret Vanish Panel 1 stage, dying a few times but soon making it to the end. He then does the same for the extra stage, Flying Pod. After clearing it and receiving an overwhelming amount of cosmetic rewards, he decides to hand the control over. Sarah, who claims to have never played a Sonic game before, ends up playing instead. She attempts Guardian Rock, the next stage in the story, and has some trouble getting used to the Avatar's controls, and dies several times on a chase segment at the end of the stage, but is able to get through after a few tries and complete it.
35211"Every Five Years"24:00Rick, C/J, JohnSarah22 November 2017 (2017-11-22)
Rick plays the third secret stage, Bomb Block 1, but has some trouble clearing a jump near the end of the level. After many failed attempts, he manages to get through and reach the goal. He then enters Network Terminal, another Modern Sonic stage set in Chemical Plant; he has some difficulty with this level too, but succeeds in completing it all the same. After taking on Plasma Cannon 1, yet another secret stage, he heads back to the Death Egg for the next story stage. C/J takes over for this level; after he clears it, the Death Egg is destroyed. A brief cutscene shows Eggman and Infinite's reaction to this development. John plays and completes the fifth secret stage, Laser Cannon 1.
