Super Smash Bros. Melee is a 2001 fighting game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. It is the second entry in the Super Smash Bros. series. The game was played by The D-Pad in 2017 as the seventeenth game in The Dreamy Let's Play, and the first following the series' return from hiatus. The playthrough commenced on December 25, 2017 and concluded on February 27, 2018 after 37 episodes.

Trivia

• The first episode of the series was uploaded as one of the channel's 2017 Christmas specials, and therefore used a modified version of the usual thumbnail.
• Episode "34.5" is a bonus video covering Rick, John and Ben's attempts to kill themselves as quickly as possible while playing Captain Falcon in order to increase the number of overall VS matches played for an in-game unlock. It was not originally intended for release, but Rick decided the footage was funny enough to deserve an upload.
