Sonic the Hedgehog CD is a 1993 platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA. As one of the primary games in the classic era of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, it has been played twice by The D-Pad - first as the second game in Sonic Week in 2011 (with the original Sega CD version behind played), and then again in 2016 as the eighth game in The Super Sonic Let's Play (with Christian Whitehead's remastered version on the PS3 being played). This second playthrough consisted of two runs of the game - one as Sonic and one as Tails.

71"Toot Toot, Sonic Warrior"14:43John21 June 2011 (2011-06-21)24 August 2011
Rick, John and C/J begin the second game of Sonic Week, with John on the controller. They talk about the odd history of Sonic CD and the 1994-1999 "dark age" of the Sonic franchise while John clears Palmtree Panic and the first stage of Collision Chaos, and obtains the first Time Stone.
82"Ambiguous Ambidextrous"12:35John21 June 2011 (2011-06-21)25 August 2011
Rick continues to list bad games from Sonic's mid-90s period as John picks up a second Time Stone and tackles the rest of Collision Chaos, running into difficulty against the level's pinball-inspired boss. He moves onto Tidal Tempest, but becomes confused after encountering an oddly-designed segment involving a switch on a rotating platform, and is ultimately crushed to death.
93"Hydrocity Moan"13:30John21 June 2011 (2011-06-21)26 August 2011
John makes his way through the remainder of Tidal Tempest, as the game's bizarre level design begins to have an effect on his progress. The difficulty of the special stages also increases; he succeeds at getting the third Time Stone but fails an attempt at the fourth.
104"Asshole Toothbrush"13:14John, C/J21 June 2011 (2011-06-21)29 August 2011
John clears the first two stages of Quartz Quadrant, before handing over to C/J for the next special stage. After spending several minutes playing the stage, C/J is similarly unable to obtain a Time Stone, and continues on through the game, finishing Quartz Quadrant and the first stage of Wacky Workbench.
115"He Wants You to Drop Trou"13:52C/J21 June 2011 (2011-06-21)30 August 2011
The team begin to doubt their chances of obtaining all the Time Stones, as C/J fails another special stage in Wacky Workbench. Along the way, they realize that there are seven, not six, Time Stones. After completing the first stage of Stardust Speedway, C/J attempts the special stage once more, but is still unsuccessful, making it impossible for them to get the game's good ending.
