The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a 1992 action-adventure game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the third main entry in the The Legend of Zelda franchise. A distant prequel to the first two games in the series, the plot focuses on a different Link and Princess Zelda than previously seen; Link, a youth living near Hyrule Castle, is told to rescue the captive Zelda from the evil wizard Agahnim, who intends to free Ganon by breaking a seal imprisoning him in the Dark World. The gameplay returns to the top-down style used in the original The Legend of Zelda, as opposed to the side-scrolling approach of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2013, as the first Saturday game and second game overall in The Legendary Let's Play. The LP consisted of 10 episodes; 9 covering a regular play through of the game and a bonus "episode 0" covering a glitched speedrun, released from August 31 to October 26, 2013. An episode of The Best of The D-Pad compiling memorable moments from the LP was released on September 5, 2023.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is one of the twenty-one games included in the Super NES Classic Edition dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2017, as the ninth game in their Super NES Classic Edition series. The episode was released on October 13, 2017.

Trivia
- Episode "0" of the original LP, released on the same day as episode 1, is a bonus video featuring the group's original attempt at playing A Link to the Past, in which Ian insisted on taking the controller first and, without warning the rest of the group, performed a major glitch that instantly took him to the end cutscene of the game in only a few minutes.
