Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a 1992 platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA. It is the second major game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It has been played twice by The D-Pad - first as the third game in Sonic Week in 2011, and then again in 2016 as the sixth game in The Super Sonic Let's Play.

Rick, John and C/J begin the third game of Sonic Week while discussing the Dreamcast era of 1999-2001, and specifically the two Sonic Adventure games. Rick takes control of the game for the first time on the channel and completes Emerald Hill Zone, obtaining two Chaos Emeralds along the way.

Rick begins to have close calls in the special stages as the difficulty goes up and Tails increasingly gets in the way, but succeeds anyway, getting a further three Chaos Emeralds as he clears out Chemical Plant Zone. Meanwhile, the group stray off-topic, talking about a variety of weaker Sonic games from the 2000s, as well as the two animated TV shows from the 1990s.

The group talk about the reasons behind SEGA's collapse as a console developer in the early 2000s as Rick plays through Aquatic Ruin and Act 1 of Casino Night, succeeding at the sixth special stage but failing an attempt at the seventh.

Rick explains the story of Ben Drowned to John and C/J while he finishes Casino Night Zone and Hill Top Zone. Along the way, he has several further attempts at the final special stage, but continues to be unsuccessful.

Rick enters Mystic Cave Zone, where he finally gets the seventh Chaos Emerald and proceeds to tear through the rest of the level as Super Sonic. The first act of Oil Ocean Zone proves more difficult due to the level's confusing layout, but he eventually clears it as well.
