Sonic Week is a series of Let's Plays created by The D-Pad in 2011, focusing on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Beginning two months after the creation of the original podcast, it consists of the first LPs the group ever created. All of the LPs featured podcast hosts Rick Desilets and John Selig, along with newcomer C/J Haley, with then-host Nick Bebel absent from the recordings. The project consisted of eight episodes released over eight days: an introductory podcast episode on June 19, six long LP videos from June 20-25, and a wrap-up podcast episode on June 26. The original plan was for the six LP episodes to be Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (split into two parts), and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, but Sonic 4: Episode I was quickly abandoned due to frame rate issues and replaced with Knuckles' Chaotix to close out the series. The LPs were originally released on The D-Pad's then-website, dpadup.com, as six long episodes. Later, these videos were edited into 55 shorter episodes, and uploaded to The D-Pad's YouTube channel between August 15 and November 4, 2011.
