Super Mario Kart is a 1992 racing game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is part of the Mario franchise, and the first game in the Mario Kart series. Players can control eight different characters from across the franchise through 20 different racetracks, in both one-player and two-player modes. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2012, in a short-lived feature on the channel called Putting Our Guests to the Test, wherein various guests on the podcast would record their times on the Mario Circuit 2 track, in an homage to the "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" segment from the TV series Top Gear. The series consisted of 3 episodes, released from April 18 to April 29, 2012.

Super Mario Kart is one of the twenty-one games included in the Super NES Classic Edition dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2017, as the eighth game in their Super NES Classic Edition series. The episode was released on October 12, 2017.
