Black Widow is a 2021 superhero film directed by Cate Shortland and written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Olga Kurylenko, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Black Widow, and is the twenty-fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, the film follows Natasha Romanoff, now a fugitive from the government, as she discovers a conspiracy tied to her past in the Red Room. The film was reviewed on The D-Pad upon its release in an episode of R-Rated, released on July 8, 2021.
