Mario Party is a 1999 party game developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It is the first game in the Mario Party series, a spinoff series from the larger Mario franchise in which said franchise's characters compete in various minigames. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong are the six playable characters. Up to four players at a time compete in a board game in which the objective is to amass the most Stars, which can only be purchased with coins obtained from competing in the minigames. The game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2021, as the eleventh event in The Games, with the Paddle Battle minigame representing the sport of rowing. The episode was released on August 3, 2021.
