Pong is a 1972 sports game developed and published by Atari. One of the earliest video games, and the first to be a major commercial success, it simulates a game of table tennis by allowing two players to control vertically-moving paddles to hit a ball. It was re-released in 1977 as part of Video Olympics, a launch title for the Atari 2600. The Video Olympics version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2021, as the ninth event in The Ist Games, representing the sport of tennis. The episode was released on August 1, 2021.
