Captain America: Civil War is a 2016 superhero film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Bruhl. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, and is the third film in the Captain America series and the thirteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The plot follows the superhero team the Avengers, as they splinter into two factions, one led by Steve Rogers and the other led by Tony Stark, over the introduction of United Nations legislation to regulate superheroes. The film was reviewed on The D-Pad in 2021 in an episode of R-Rated. The episode was released on December 18, 2021.
