10161"Where Does It End?"14:32John, RickBen2 November 2017 (2017-11-02)
In a live-action intro, Rick convinces John that X8 is an improvement over the previous entries in the series, explaining the game's plot and gameplay changes from X7. In the game itself, John starts up a new file and watches the opening cutscene. He then is sent straight to Noah's Park, the intro stage to the game. Controlling X and Axl, with a tag-team option to switch between them, John plays through the stage and defeats a boss, after which X leaves. Left with only Axl to play as, John dies a few times in the latter area of the stage, blaming the unresponsive controller for his performance. Rick tries it out and similarly dies, resulting in a game over. As they had not created a save file yet, they are sent back to the title screen.
10182"Press Select to Shut Her Up"19:01JohnRick, Ben3 November 2017 (2017-11-03)
John takes another attempt at the intro stage from the beginning, using a better controller than before. He gets back to where he was before without too much trouble, then moves further into the stage. Zero appears to team up with Axl. After another section of level including a second battle with the boss from earlier, Axl leaves, leaving Zero alone. A short while later, X reappears for the final stretch of the level. John makes his way through it, eventually reaching the end, and a third battle against the spider boss. After failing several times, John is able to defeat it, finally completing the intro stage. He returns to base, where he is presented with a choice of the game's eight Maverick levels.
10193"Sad Panda"21:29RickJohn, Ben13 November 2017 (2017-11-13)
The group reveal that offscreen, John had played through some of Bamboo Pandamonium's stage, but died several times, and that the footage was lost. Rick attempts the level, making his way through it with some difficulties, and eventually reaching the boss. He dies several times, receiving a game over, and is forced to restart the stage from the beginning. This next attempt starts off well, but Rick quickly manages to die a few more times, leaving him with only a single life to face the boss. He gets there and manages to deplete about half of Bamboo Pandamonium's health bar, but has some trouble dealing with the boss's attacks, the range of which is far greater than it appears to be, and is ultimately killed.
10204"I Can't Climb That Wall"18:49RickJohn, Ben14 November 2017 (2017-11-14)
On the level select screen, Rick is interrupted by an "intermission" stage at Noah's Park, despite not having beaten any of the eight bosses. He heads there and finds himself in a pseudo-minigame where he must dodge and kill enemies over and over again on a single screen. After a few attempts, he gives up and return to the level select to attempt the stage of Dark Mantis. The stage proves to be a frustrating experience, filled with alarms that are hard to dodge and summon many enemies when set off. Rick fails several times throughout the stage, eventually reaching the boss with only one life left and very low health. He is defeated almost immediately, sending him back to the level select once more.
10225"They Just Did"25:40RickJohn, Ben15 November 2017 (2017-11-15)
Rick enters Optic Sunflower's stage, which consists of a number of "minigames" where he must kill enemies in a certain amount of time. The speed at which they are killed determines the path taken through the level. After a shaky start, Rick manages to get to the "top" path, only to find an extremely difficult platforming section with spikes, which kills him three times, resulting in a game over. He upgrades some of his chips before heading straight back into the level and trying again. After several more failures, he manages to find his way to the end, where he encounters a secret boss fight against the 8-bit Cut Man. He defeats Cut Man and heads on to the real boss, Optic Sunflower. On his second attempt he manages to defeat him, finally completing one of the eight stages.
10236"Murder Is Correct, Better Fuck a Horse"24:59RickJohn, Ben, Lindsay16 November 2017 (2017-11-16)
Rick heads to Avalanche Yeti's stage, finding it to consist of a long vehicle-based segment, which he dies numerous times trying to complete. Meanwhile, John and Lindsay talk about various mythologies and Thor: Ragnarok. Rick tries the vehicle segment over and over again, but finds himself unable to defeat the miniboss at the end of it. Eventually, he finally manages to destroy it, and reaches the end of the stage. He uses the attack Zero obtained from defeating Optic Sunflower to clear a path to a hidden Light Capsule, but realizes that he can't obtain it, as X is dead and he is unable to switch to him. He moves on and faces Avalanche Yeti, dying on his first attempt but narrowly defeating him on his second.
10247"I Don't Know Much"17:18RickJohn, Ben, Lindsay17 November 2017 (2017-11-17)
After a brief debate over whether Rick did or didn't say the word "navligator" while attempting to explain something about the game, Rick heads into Burn Rooster's level. He plays through it, fighting through a number of difficult auto-scrolling segments and dying several times before managing to reach the boss. Luckily, he finds that Avalanche Yeti's weapon is strong against Burn Rooster, and defeats the boss fairly easily. To his surprise, he is then made to escape the level while the lava rises, in a reverse of the auto-scrolling segments from earlier in the stage. He is able to reach the end, completing the level.
10288"Melt Creeper, Thunder Dancer"15:39RickJohn, Ben, Lindsay20 November 2017 (2017-11-20)
Rick begins Gigabolt Man-O-War's stage, a 3D vehicle level where the player must chase the boss and shoot him while flying through the city. He and John have a brief misunderstanding about the recording schedule for The Eye of Argon as Rick plays through the level. He fails to deal enough damage to the boss in time on the first two attempts, but manages to succeed on the third. This leads to the actual boss fight against Gigabolt Man-O-War, which Rick is able to narrowly defeat, although he is unable to use the double attack due to Zero being defeated near the end of the fight. He receives some oddly-named new weapons for his three characters, then moves on to a different stage.
10299"I Don't Have Time for Your Shit"22:17RickJohn, Ben21 November 2017 (2017-11-21)
While John discusses an awkward sample he was asked to send in for a gut health check, Rick re-enters Avalanche Yeti's stage, with the intention of obtaining the armor that he couldn't access the first time around. He once again has trouble facing off against the miniboss in the stage, and dies multiple times before finally reaching the end. When he gets there, however, he discovers that he needs Zero to reach the platform in the first place, and must restart the level from the beginning. He does so, and manages to reach the end again with Zero and X. He melts the barrier blocking the path to the capsule, then switches to X and obtains the Neutral Armor and the Head Parts H. He heads back to the level select, as Ian and Heather arrive.
