Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 superhero film directed by Joe Johnston, starring Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Neal McDonough, Derek Luke, and Stanley Tucci. It is based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, and is the fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was covered by The D-Pad in 2019, as the seventh installment of Movie Nights at the Roundtable. A review was released on October 19, 2019, followed by a D-Pad + Chill episode covering the related Marvel short film A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer (included on the home video release of The First Avenger) on October 27, 2019, and another episode covering the film itself on November 3, 2019.
