Super Cable Boy is a 2020 platform game developed and published by Sørb for PC. Inspired by retro platformers, the player character is a living handheld game console with a power cord attached. The game was played on The D-Pad shortly after its release, as an any% speedrun attempt by Rick. The sole episode was streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account before being uploaded to YouTube on November 26, 2020.

Trivia

  • The Super Cable Boy speedrun attempt came about when Rick provided commentary for an inaugural speedrun race of the game on the Speedgaming Twitch channel immediately after its release. Neither of the two participants in the race managed to complete a full run, leading Rick to decide to set an any% time himself a few days later. His run, with a time of 1:44:51, was the first Super Cable Boy run logged on speedrun.com, and briefly the any% world record. It held this record for a single day before being broken by Hydrei, with a time of 1:19:27.
