Donkey Kong 64 is a 1999 platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It is part of the Donkey Kong franchise, and is a loose follow-up to both Rare's earlier 2D Donkey Kong Country trilogy for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and their 1998 Nintendo 64 3D platformer Banjo-Kazooie, featuring the same characters as the former but with gameplay heavily resembling the latter. The first 3D Donkey Kong game, it allows the player to control five different Kongs on a quest to defeat King K. Rool. It also features numerous puzzles and minigames, and an extremely large number of collectible items. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2021, with the group attempting a speedrun of the game in 24 hours for Extra Life 2021. Originally streamed live in a marathon on the dpadfm Twitch account, the LP was edited into five episodes and uploaded to YouTube from November 15 to November 19, 2021.
