Silpheed is a 1993 scrolling shooter game developed by Game Arts and published by Sega for the Sega CD. It is a port of a 1986 PC game. Its main changes from the original version include a pre-rendered video background and a new storyline involving an attempt to defeat terrorists who have taken control of the solar system's weaponry. It is one of the sixty games included in the Sega Genesis Mini 2 dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2022, as the eleventh game in their Sega Genesis Mini 2 series. The episode was released on November 18, 2022.
