Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar, known outside North America as Thunder Force IV, is a 1993 shoot 'em up game developed and published by Technosoft for the Sega Genesis. It is the fourth game in the Thunder Force series. Set two years after the events of Thunder Force III, the player controls a fighter pilot battling against the evil Orn Empire to save humanity. It is one of the fifty-three games included in the Sega Genesis Mini 2 dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2022, as the fifth game in their Sega Genesis Mini 2 series. The episode was released on November 12, 2022.
