Metroid: Zero Mission is a 2004 action-adventure game developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It is a remake of the 1987 Nintendo Entertainment System game Metroid, the first game in the Metroid franchise. The game presents an expanded version of Samus's first encounter with the Metroids and Mother Brain on Zebes, with a revamped map containing several areas not present in the original game. Additionally, elements from later games in the franchise such as a map system, save rooms, the ability to aim in eight directions, and many items are all added. The game was played on The D-Pad by Rick in 2021, as the fifth game in The Screwy Let's Play. Episodes were streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account before being posted to YouTube. The LP consisted of 2 episodes, released from August 19 to August 25, 2021.
