Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a 2010 platform game developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo and published by Nintendo for the Wii. It is part of the Super Mario series within the larger Mario franchise, and a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. It maintains the same basic gameplay as its predecessor, while expanding on it with new mechanics such as additional power-ups and the inclusion of Yoshi. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2020, with Rick attempting a 100% speedrun of the game in 24 hours as a celebration of the channel's ninth anniversary. Originally streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account on June 19, 2020, the attempted was later edited into three large episodes and uploaded to YouTube from June 22, 2020 to June 26, 2020.
The game was revisited on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2022, as the fifteenth event in The IInd Games, representing the sport of figure skating. The episode was released on February 21, 2022.
