The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 2017 action-adventure game developed by Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the nineteenth main entry in the The Legend of Zelda franchise. Set thousands of years after all previous Zelda games, its placement in the timeline is ambiguous. The story follows a new Link, who awakens after a century-long slumber in order to save Hyrule from the evil entity Calamity Ganon. The gameplay is a significant departure from the rest of the franchise, taking inspiration from modern open-world role-playing games. Traditional dungeons have been removed, new mechanics such as crafting and cooking with harvested materials have been added, and the player is able to tackle almost all of the game's challenges in any order, including attempting to challenge Ganon almost immediately after starting the game. Two DLC expansions were developed after the game's release: The Master Trials, released in mid 2017, and The Champions' Ballad, released in late 2017. The game was played on The D-Pad upon its release, as the thirteenth weekday game and twenty-third game overall in The Legendary Let's Play. The LP consisted of 144 episodes, released on weekdays from March 6 to November 9, 2017. A further 21 episodes covering The Champions' Ballad were released on weekdays from December 25, 2017 to March 9, 2018. The LP returned as a livestreamed series on the dpadfm Twitch account in the lead-up to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with Rick attempting to 100% the game. The livestreams were released on YouTube in 15 episodes from April 24 to May 12, 2023. Three bonus videos, the first compiling every shrine visit from the LP, the second featuring C/J livestreaming his blind completion of the main story, and the third consisting of the "Hero's Path" of the entire LP, were released from May 15 to August 23, 2023, for a final total of 183 episodes.
The game was revisited on The D-Pad in 2021, as the third event in The Ist Games and the fourth event in The IInd Games, representing the sports of triathlon and biathlon. The two episodes were released on July 27, 2021 and February 12, 2022.

The fourth, containing episodes 77 through 99, was released on October 16, 2023. The fifth, containing a one-off episode of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and episode 100 through 120, was released on October 18, 2023. The sixth, containing episodes 121 through 144, was released on October 25, 2023. The seventh, containing episodes 145 through 165, was released on November 9, 2023.
