Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition is a 1999 role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. It is part of the first generation of the Pokémon franchise, and an updated re-release of the original 1998 games Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version. New content loosely based on the Pokémon anime is added to the game, including a Pikachu which refuses to evolve as a starter, encounters with Team Rocket members Jessie and James, and updated Gym Leader rosters to reflect their battles in the anime. The 2016 Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console re-release of the game was played by Rick on The D-Pad in a Nuzlocke challenge upon its release. Episodes were streamed live on the YouTube channel. The LP consisted of 10 episodes, released from February 28, 2016 to June 3, 2021.
The game was revisited on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2021, as the fifth event in The Ist Games, with the Pikachu's Beach minigame representing the sport of surfing. The episode was released on July 28, 2021.
Pokémon
A list of all Pokémon obtained by Rick during the run. A highlighted name indicates a Pokémon in the party as of the final episode. All Pokémon are named by the livestream viewers; as soon as the Pokémon is caught, viewers may type a single character into the chat. The final name consists of all available characters typed until someone types "end", the letters "e", "n", and "d" are entered in sequence, or the name reaches the maximum length of ten characters. Each Pokémon is also given an informal nickname based on the characters in the actual name.

Trivia
- The Pokémon Yellow Version LP is the first Nuzlocke on the channel to not be a part of Pokémon Rivals.
- Although initially intended to be a weekly stream, Pokémon Yellow developed one of the most inconsistent schedules of any LP on the channel, with 18 months passing between episodes in one instance. The LP averaged a single episode per year for much of its run. The final three episodes were released in consecutive weeks in order to finally complete the LP, over five years since it began.
- At just over 10 hours, the first episode of the LP was, until the 25-hour livestream of Super Mario Odyssey, the longest video the channel had ever produced.
- Due to YouTube limitations on video length mandating Super Mario Odyssey be split into three segments after the initial Twitch stream, the first episode of this series remained the longest YouTube video on the channel until the 11-and-a-half-hour finale of the Super Mario Galaxy livestream.
Notes
- ↑ In this episode, C/J appears only in an on-mic phone call.
