Kirby Super Star is a 1996 action-platform game developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is part of the Kirby franchise. It differs from other games in the series with its "sub-game" structure; the game is divided into eight sections, each with their own title screen, story, levels, and slight variations on basic Kirby gameplay mechanics, as well as two minigames. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2016, as the tenth game in The Dreamy Let's Play and the fourteenth game in You Do It. The LP consisted of 22 episodes; 19 covering the main game released from August 11 to September 4, 2016, and 3 further episodes covering various challenge runs released from July 3 to July 16, 2022.

Kirby Super Star is one of the twenty-one games included in the Super NES Classic Edition dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2017, as the seventeenth game in their Super NES Classic Edition series. The episode was released on October 25, 2017.

The game was played on The D-Pad a third time in a one-off episode in 2021, as the fourth game in The D-Pad 10th Anniversary Marathon Stream. The episode was streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account before being uploaded to YouTube on April 8, 2021.
