Wonder Boy in Monster World is a 1991 action role-playing game developed by Westone and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It is the fifth game in the Monster Boy franchise, and the third in the Monster World series. A remastered port was released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in 2022 as part of Wonder Boy Collection. The game was played on The D-Pad by Rick in a one-off episode in 2018. The episode was streamed live on the dpadfm Twitch account before being uploaded to YouTube on June 8, 2018.
Wonder Boy in Monster World is one of the forty-two games included in the Sega Genesis Mini dedicated console. This version of the game was played on The D-Pad in a one-off episode in 2019, as the sixth game in their Sega Genesis Mini series. The episode was released on November 11, 2019.
The game was played on The D-Pad a third time in 2022, as the third game in The Wondrous Let's Play. In this LP, the Nintendo Switch version of the game was played. The LP began on August 10, 2022.
