Blue Sphere is a 1994 platform game developed by Sega Technical Institute and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It is an expanded version of the "get blue spheres" special stage from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, the two-part third main game in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, accessible by connecting the original Sonic the Hedgehog to Sonic & Knuckles using the "lock-on technology" of the latter's cartridge. Blue Sphere consists of over 100 million randomly-generated special stages. Connecting any other Genesis game to Sonic & Knuckles results in a reduced version of the game in which only a single random stage is playable. The game was played on The D-Pad in 2016, as the twenty-first game in The Super Sonic Let's Play. The LP consisted of 6 episodes, released on weekdays from December 17 to December 23, 2016.
