Shadow the Hedgehog is a 2005 platform game developed by Sega Studios USA and published by Sega. It is a spin-off in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, featuring the titular Shadow in the playable role. The plot follows an amnesia Shadow as he attempts to learn his true identity, while contending with the invasion of an alien race known as the Black Arms. The game plays similarly to other modern Sonic games, with the additional of weapon and vehicle mechanics. Additionally, the game's stages contain "hero", "dark", and "neutral" missions the player can choose between, with their choices determining which levels they play and the outcome of the story. Over 300 unique paths through the game exist; paths completed by the player are tracked in the game's "library" menu. The GameCube version of the game was played on The D-Pad in 2020, as the sixty-sixth game in The Super Sonic Let's Play. The LP consisted of 55 episodes, released on weekdays from May 19 to August 27, 2020.
